Senior Bowl announces their 2023 Senior Bowl Watchlist

The Senior Bowl officially announced its 10th annual Watchlist just days ahead of the college football season. The 2023 Senior Bowl Watchlist features 484 players from schools across the country. Identifying the “best of the best,” the Senior Bowl Watchlist is just part of the offseason’s worth of work with the 2023 NFL Draft circuit heating up.

2023 Senior Bowl Watchlist

Before taking a look at the Senrio Bowl Watchlist, it’s imperative to understand the logic and reasoning as well as the qualifications for student-athletes to be included. Every player that is featured on the list is either a high school graduate of the 2018 class or at least a true four-year player in college.

Identifying such athletes has become increasingly difficult following the NCAA’s blanket approval of a free year of eligibility following 2020’s COVID-19 season. It was just another layer of research the staff at the Senior Bowl had to weave through in order to reach their final goal of identifying the top Senior Bowl-eligible athletes.

The Senior Bowl was also specific in stating that this list is just a starting point. As pointed out, senior tape is the most important factor in the selection process for Senior Bowl evaluators.

“Our scouting team has been working since last February to identify the ‘best of the best’ draft prospects at every level of college football for the 2023 NFL Draft,” the Senior Bowl release stated. “To all players not listed, please know this is just a starting point. Senior tape is the most critical criteria in our selection process, and every senior will be re-evaluated based on their tape this fall.”
