The Detroit Lions have an unconvincing history of first-round picks in the NFL Draft. While they have drafted a handful of Hall of Fame players in the first round, they have also left people scratching their heads on more than one occasion. The Lions franchise has a history dating all the way back to the start of the NFL Draft in 1936. During that time, they have drafted six players who would go on to be enshrined in the Pro Football Hall of Fame. Four of those players were drafted before the merger, with just Barry Sanders and Calvin Johnson having been enshrined in the Hall of Fame since the merger.
